Heading to the Folk Alliance International Conference 2026!

Big News! Voices of the Americas Heritage Institute is heading to the Folk Alliance International Conference 2026!

From January 21–25, 2026, we’ll be in New Orleans, Louisiana, joining the world’s largest gathering of the folk music community, and we couldn’t be more excited!

The Folk Alliance International Conference is a space where music transcends borders, where stories and traditions travel from one culture to another, and where the work of preserving heritage meets the challenge of inspiring new generations.

We’re especially looking forward to:

  • Connecting with artists who keep oral traditions and community music alive.
  • Engaging with educators and cultural advocates committed to weaving folk music into broader narratives of social impact and cultural diplomacy.
  • Collaborating with changemakers who believe, as we do, that traditional voices don’t belong in the past, they belong in the future, amplified and celebrated.

At Voices of the Americas Heritage Institute, we believe that music is not just art. It is memory, it is identity, it is a force that can heal divisions and foster understanding. The Folk Alliance International Conference offers the perfect platform to share that vision, and to learn from others walking the same path.

If you’ll be at the conference, come find us! We’d love to meet you, exchange stories, and explore ways we can work together to ensure the songs of the past remain powerful voices for tomorrow.

Save the dates: January 21–25, 2026
Where: New Orleans, Louisiana

We’ll see you there, and we can’t wait!
